Vicky Rizothanassis, ND, has a great passion for Naturopathic Medicine and has integrated natural health practices in her own life from a very young age.
Vicky has always been interested in the mind-body connection and its impact on health. She studied psychology in university before embarking on her post-graduate studies where she went on to receive her degree as a Naturopathic Doctor from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2008. CCNM is one of six schools accredited by the Counsel on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME) in North America.
Vicky’s naturopathic practice combines eastern healing arts and philosophy with scientific evidence-based medicine for an individualized and effective approach to health and healing. Some of the modalities she uses are nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture (in Ontario), botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and lifestyle counselling. In addition to a general practice, Vicky takes a special interest in digestive health, heart health, hormone balancing and fertility, chronic pain management, and weight loss using body composition analysis with BIA assessment.
In 2009, Vicky received clinical training in mind body medicine at the Benson Henry Institute at Harvard University. Vicky has also received advanced training in environmental medicine, toxicology and detoxification, with Dr. Walter Crinnion ND, Dr. William Rea MD and Dr. Lynn Patrick ND. With this training, she has learned how toxicant exposures are correlated to many chronic disease states, how to identify them and how to use effective methods for reducing toxic load and body burden to improve one’s state of health.
Vicky believes that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. She is passionate about empowering and educating people to achieve optimal health and live a high vitality life.
Since the completion of her formal training, Vicky Rizothanassis ND enjoys keeping up to date with relevant advances in treatment approaches through continuing education seminars. She is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Quebec Association of Naturopathic Medicine (QANM), and is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
